Test your strengths and sign up for the 1000 LB. Challenge for a chance to make it into the 1000 LB. CLUB!

The Challenge

Have the sum of your maximum lift for:

  • Bench Press
  • Squat
  • Deadlift

equal to or greater than 1,000 lbs!

Event Schedule

11:00AM - Racks/Weights available for warm-ups

12:00PM - Start of 1000 LB. Challenge

  • First Lift (Squat)
  • Second Lift (Bench)
  • Third Lift (Deadlift)

After Lifts Completed:  Awards & Photos

Rules & Regulations

  1. Must be a UB student, faculty/staff or have a Recreation membership
  2. Must complete a single, good form rep of each exercise
    • If the weight is dropped, then the attempt is nullified
    • Lightest attempts to go first.
  3. Participants are allowed to use a weight belt, knee sleeves, wrist wraps, olympic shoes, singlet and/or chalk*
    • Any other additional equipment is not allowed
  4. Participants must be spotted and judged by 2 Alumni Arena Staff Members
  5. Must sign-up for the 1000 LB. Challenge before-hand, no walk-ins
