UB Recreation offers a variety of Group Fitness classes every semester. Group exercise is typically described as exercise performed by a group of individuals led by an instructor. A variety of group exercise formats exist and they all offer a variety of benefits you might miss out on if you choose to work out on your own.

Some of the benefits include exposure to a social and fun environment, a safe and effectively designed workout, a consistent exercise schedule, an accountability factor for participating in exercise, and a workout that requires no prior exercise knowledge or experience.

We cater to the needs of the competitive spirit in our patrons by providing safe and structured sports leagues. While we do keep track of wins and losses and declare a champion at the end of it all, it is important to keep in mind that the most important aspect we offer is fun!

While the game atmosphere is often competitive, ensuring participant safety, providing a fun, social atmosphere and promoting sportsmanlike behavior among participants, spectators and team followers are our primary concerns. The game atmosphere should remain good-natured at all times. Participants shall maintain good sportsmanship throughout their participation in all facets of the Intramural program.

Players must have a valid UB Student ID, Faculty/Staff Recreation Permit or an Intramural Alumni Permit. Daily Recreation Passes are not acceptable for intramural sports play.

IMLeagues

UB Intramurals utilizes IMLeagues.com to register and schedule its intramural sports leagues. IMLeagues is a website specifically designed for college intramural sports departments. A few of the features include online sign-up and scheduling, customizable team pages, message boards, and much more.

All intramural participants are required to create an account on IMLeagues.com.

UB Recreation offers Group Swim Lessons for those who are building upon their skills and wish to be among other students and Private Swim Lessons for those who prefer individual instruction (one-to-one with a swim instructor) throughout the year.

Regardless of whether its group or private swim lessons, UB Aquatics swim instructors use an exciting approach to help swimmers of all ages develop a love of the water.
