Alumni Arena is a world class facility that houses the university's NCAA Division I sports teams and faculty. It's the place for men's and women's Mid-American Conference basketball competition, fitness activities, Distinguished Speakers Series lectures and large-scale events, including general commencement.  The building was constructed in two phases - 1982 and 1985. The addition included a gymnastic area, activity rooms, locker rooms and racket ball courts among other space uses. Alumni Arena also includes a 6,000 seat gym for basketball, wrestling or volleyball (also the site of commencements and lectures by prominent speakers) and a natatorium, The gym is also the site of a 50 meter Olympic pool with a 1.2 million gallon capacity.  It's also home to the Department of Theatre and Dance.

The Bulls Team Shop is located inside Alumni Arena on the first floor, Room 130.

The Bulls Team Shop is open during UB Athletics home games that take place in Alumni Arena.

The mirrored Dance Studio is located inside Alumni Arena on the ground floor, Room 75.

The three full-court basketball gym, the Ed Wright Practice Facility, is located inside Alumni Arena on the ground floor, Room 76.

The 6,900 sq. ft. Fitness Center with Cardio Deck is located inside Alumni Arena on the first floor, Room 175.

• Always return equipment to its proper location and re-rack used weights. Please sanitize all equipment that you have used.
• Absolutely no dropping weights. All weights must be returned to the ground in a controlled manner.
• Appropriate clothing is required at all times. Tops are required and must cover the entire torso-stomach, ribcage and chest. No open-toe shoes or boots are permitted in the Fitness Center.
• No bags/backpacks are permitted in the Fitness Center. Jackets may not be left on the floor. Free lockers are available for use in the locker room and lock rentals are available in the Pro Shop.
• To avoid unwanted noise, and for safety purposes, only personal headphone audio systems are allowed.
• Verbal and/or physical abuse of students and members, as well as physical abuse of the property is not allowed. Aggressive behavior will result in immediate dismissal from the facility.

The 1/6 Mile long Jogging Track is located inside Alumni Arena on the second floor.

The Men's and Women's Locker Rooms are located inside Alumni Arena on the ground floor. Locker Rooms are equipped with showers, lockers, bathrooms, a steam room and a sauna.

Alumni Arena (North Campus)

You must have a valid recreation membership or be a current UB student* to rent a locker. Any lock in our daily locker section that is left on overnight will be removed and contents discarded. This is for daily use only.

The Sauna and Steam room are open with a 2 person limit.

• Please maintain 6 feet of social distance.
• Everyone must wear a mask in the steam room and sauna, regardless of vaccination status.

UB Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Alumni Arena Member Services is located inside Alumni Arena on the first floor, Room 175.

The 50-meter Pool is located inside Alumni Arena on the ground floor, Room 86.

The Pro Shop is located inside Alumni Arena on the ground floor, Room 29.

It is imperative that lockers are renewed on time. The beginning of each month, renewal reminders will go out for all lockers that expire in the following month. In addition, email reminders will be sent indicating when the locker expires.

At the end of the month, all lockers that have expired will be dumped, locks will be changed and contents will be bagged and held in the Pro Shop for two (2) weeks. You will receive an email indicating your locker has been cleared out. After two (2) weeks, the contents will be donated to charity.

Please Note: We are currently suspending equipment rentals due to COVID-19.

Do you want to play racquetball? A game of basketball? Do you have equipment? Come to the Pro Shop to rent out a wide variety of sports equipment!

Any UB Student, Faculty, Staff or Recreation Membership Permit holder can rent equipment for the day at no cost. To rent equipment, you must bring your driver's license and UB Card/Recreation Membership Card to the Pro Shopt. You must have both forms of ID, no exceptions.

Policies

• You may NOT rent equipment for an academic class.
• All equipment must be returned by the close of the same day, otherwise a $5.00/day late fee will be charged.
• All equipment must be returned in the same condition.
• A fee* will be charged to all lost or damaged equipment.

Are you having a picnic, family reunion or a get together with friends? Rent equipment from the Pro Shop!

You must put in your request at least 48 hours before your desired pick-up date.

The Racquetball Courts are located inside Alumni Arena on the first floor.

Reservations can be made starting at 10:00am. To make a reservation, call Member Services no earlier than two days prior to your desired date/time.

The Spinning Room is located inside Alumni Arena on the first floor, Room 145.
