The CPR Instructor job entails creativity and the ability to follow standard BLS (Basic Life Support) curriculum. The instructor should have practice experience in performing the skills taught and the ability to communicate the skills in a clear and precise manner.
Preferably, instructors should have at least 1 year of experience in teaching or training others, although this is not required because we do offer training.

Job Description
Under supervision of Recreation Services provides group fitness or training instruction, monitors and educates patrons on fitness and safety, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants. A Fitness Instructor is responsible for leading group fitness classes ranging from yoga to zumba to spinning. This includes counting, cueing, organizing choreography and much more.
Duties include providing a safe and fun environment, promoting knowledge of proper group fitness components and providing excellent customer service. Teaching scheduled classes on time, providing an adequate warm-up, exercises, stretching and cool down. Instructing patrons of effective exercise methods, proper techniques, demonstrating exercises and identifying muscle groups. Preparing class, equipment, music and classroom. Assisting patrons with exercises and maintaining a positive experience for patrons and class participants. Keeping management informed of equipment and facility needs and ensuring safety standards are met. Maintaining CPR certification, safety trainings and current instructional certification.
Already having an instructor certification is preferred, but we can help you become certified!

Intramural Sports Official Application
Job Description
Officiate Intramural Team Sports which may include: Flag Football, Basketball, Softball, Floor Hockey, Roller Hockey, Dodgeball, Soccer, Volleyball, and other Seasonal Team Sports. Work under the supervision of the Student Head Official along with Assistant Director for Intramurals`(ADI). Attendance is required for the mandatory training and evaluation sessions. Students sports officiating is a seasonal employment opportunity with scheduling based on weekly performance evaluations. All employees must read and sign the Declaration of Commitment in the Intramural Employee Handbook once they have decided to begin work for UB Intramurals.

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor Application
Job Description
Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. Must have American Red Cross Lifeguard Training & First Aid, American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Pre-employment testing of lifeguarding skills and knowledge. Must enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations.
The Swim Instructor is responsible for instructing all swim lesson participants. We offer private and group swim lessons. Must have knowledge of and the ability to demonstrate skills as required for class content and use teaching aids such as kickboards, diving rings, life jackets, etc. Must have the ability to positively interact with the general public. Previous aquatic experience is preferred. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification is required.

Job Description
The University at Buffalo Student Association oversees the student run Sport Clubs on campus. Due to their use of the facility space within Recreation, we oversee their practices, games and tournaments to ensure all spaces are functioning properly and are safe to play in.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily Sport Club activities utilizing Recreation facilities.
Complete facility checks before and after each club practice and game.
Communicate with Assistant Director for Student Employee Development daily with a report of the club activities that took place.
Requirements
Must have availability during times below. Times listed are NOT shift lengths. Shifts will vary based on field/gym reservations and daylight.
Vehicle is required to perform duties while clubs utilize outdoor fields and courts.
