Mission and Goals

While assessment evidence is viewed as an important component for the demonstration of accountability for external audiences, the assessment process is valued at the University due to its importance to the enhancement of pedagogy and student learning, campus-wide service delivery, and efficiency and effectiveness of the University as a whole.  Thus, we believe that assessment that is done for the sake of continuous quality improvement results in accountability evidence that can be shared with external audiences.

Our mission is achieved via achievement of the following goals:

  • To provide leadership and resources for outcomes assessment in all University units.
  • To develop strategies for the coordination of assessment activities across the institution.
  • To assist programs and units in their efforts to achieve and maintain certification and accreditation by external agencies.
  • To assure that the University is in full compliance with the reporting requirements of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE).
