We recognize the great work that the employees of the University at Buffalo Police Department have performed during the fourth quarter of 2021.

Employees of the Quarter, Second Quarter 2022

Officer Nicholas Pokorski

At approximately 3:00 am on May 31, 2022, Officer Pokorski observed a suspicious individual prowling around outside South Lake Village Apartments. He stopped the subject and ultimately found that he was in possession of burglar tools and drug paraphernalia, as well as a new laptop computer still unopened in the box. Officer Pokorski arrested this subject after he used a false name and also seized the laptop as evidence. Officer Austin Skawienski was able to determine the computer had been stolen from a retail store the previous day.

For his proactive police work which likely prevented a burglary to University apartments, it is our pleasure to recognize Officer Nicholas Pokorski as our Officer of the Quarter.

Officers Austin Skawienski, Robert Adamski, Connor Schiffman, and Nicholas Hoffman

On June 11, 2022, while working a special event detail at the University United Festival. These officers responded to a call reporting an unresponsive female in the Parker Parking Lot. The officers were extremely swift in their response and took immediate action to administer CPR and to retrieve and administer an AED after determining the victim did not have a pulse. Although the victim did not survive, these officers did not hesitate to quickly respond and to render critical and potentially lifesaving aid.

For their swift and proficient response to a critical medical emergency, it is our pleasure to also recognize Officers Skawienski, Adamski, Schiffman, and Hoffman as our Officers of the Quarter
