Farmers need time and money — two things Gregory Everhart hopes his Buffalo-based Cloud and Field startup will provide by automating tractors.
Cloud and Field’s product plugs into tractors and is compatible with most post-2008 models. Farmers can then use their cellphones to direct the now fully automated tractor where to go and what to do, thanks to the device’s artificial intelligence software.
Cloud and Field’s automation device is being field tested with help from the Rochester Institute of Technology and the goal of a larger initial release in the spring.
The company, which is in pre-revenue stages, has raised a total of $160,000 including $100,000 from UB's Cultivator program.
