You’ll notice a new look and new features next time you log into UB’s online portal at myub.buffalo.edu. Read on to learn what’s new, and get tips for navigating the new system.

Highlights

Your “role” at UB—whether student, staff, faculty, or some combination of these—is automatically detected when you log in, and MyUB automatically shows you information relevant to your role.

If you are a faculty or staff member and would like to see the same view as the students you support, click the drop down menu underneath the search bar at the top-right to select that role.

From top to bottom, the information on MyUB is tailored for you—and can be further tailored by you for the best possible experience. Here’s what you’ll see when you log in:

  • Announcements at the top of the page share timely information you’ll need to succeed at UB. You can dismiss these by clicking the X in the top-right corner of the announcement. To see any announcements you’ve dismissed again, click the View All button at the bottom of the section.
  • My Favorites are links you’ve “liked” in the past, sent to the top of the page so you can find them faster next time. Don’t see your My Favorites section yet? Click the heart icon on one of the links you use most and the section will generate automatically.
  • Quick Links are the links others in your role (such as student, staff, faculty) visit the most.
  • My Recently Used keeps track of which links you’ve clicked recently.
  • Categories related to your role, including ways to get help with popular UB services.

The new MyUB is a permanent update to the MyUB portal. If you’d prefer to keep using the old MyUB for now, you can do so through the fall 2021 semester.

To switch back to the old MyUB temporarily, click the MyUB Classic icon — search for it by typing “MyUB Classic” into the search bar at the top of the page.
