Thomas Ramming

Clinical Associate Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy


K-12 school and district leadership, educational policy, organizational development, human resources, labor relations, collective bargaining, leadership recruitment and development, shared services, inter-district collaboration

Thomas Ramming leads the school leadership preparation program in the university's Graduate School of Education.

He teaches: Collective Bargaining and Contract Administration; Human Resources in Education; Leading an Effective School District; and Planning, Budgeting and Data Analysis.

Previously, he worked as school superintendent, assistant superintendent for human resources, and director of labor relations.

Working with colleagues at D’Youville College and SUNY New Paltz, Tom recently published a book of case stories, “Theory into Practice; Case Stories of School Leaders” (Sense Publishers, 2012), based on the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium standards.
