Kamontá Heidelburg can speak to the media about access, equity and diversity in education, and culturally responsive interventions in K-12 schools.
Heidelburg’s research focuses on cultural adaptations to evidence-based individual and systems-level interventions to support the positive social-emotional and academic development of Black students. He developed Black to Success (B2S), an evidence-based, culturally enriched social skills program for Black adolescent males. The program aims to increase positive racial identity and social skills and development for these students while reducing problem behaviors, discipline referrals, and discipline disparities.
In addition to racial inequities, Heidelburg can discuss issues including poverty, gender, and culture in the context of access and equity in K-12 education. He has experience consulting with school districts to advance culturally responsive policies and practices such as school-wide positive behavior interventions and supports implementation.
