Abstract: This report contains the following: (a) a description of the development and operation of the NSD, (b) analytical and computational tools that describe the behavior of the device, (c) experimental results that represent proof-of-concept for weakening with the use of the Negative Stiffness Device, (d) validation of the developed analytical models by comparison of analytical and experimental results, and (e) reports of design imperfections and proposed improvements in the design of the device.
