Simulation to study driving under-the-influence; Laboratory assessment for substance abuse

Co-I Houston is conducting simulator experiments to analyze human driving behavior after administration of alcohol (BAC=0.08) and placebo (R21-AA021924; Houston, Co-I). Current results indicate that drivers under the influence of alcohol drive more slowly, and the deviation of their speed was seen to be greater than that during placebo sessions. Further, co-I Houston has extensive experience conducting laboratory assessments for substance use treatment (R03-AA020925, Houston, PI; R21DA034068, Houston, Co-I).
