Friendly competition

I was a three-year member of the table tennis club. Our UB team went to several tournaments, which I never expected I'd do, having never played before college. It was so much fun! We competed with other universities, Rochester, Cornell and RIT. Although I didn’t attend, while I was an undergrad we even won the eastern zone championship for the first time in UB's history!

Sports are an easy way to meet people; we had Americans, Chinese and many others on the team. I made really good friendships that I know will last a lifetime and experienced so many cultures. I even taught table tennis to younger kids at a local Buffalo community center.
