Several major U.S. cities are within a 90-minute flight from UB, including: New York City, Washington, D.C., Boston, Chicago and Philadelphia.

Located in New York State between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, two of the famous Great Lakes, Buffalo and the Buffalo-Niagara region (including Niagara Falls) is a safe and friendly community that is close and convenient to several major metropolitan areas, including New York City, Washington, D.C., Boston, and Toronto, Canada’s largest urban center. Niagara Falls, one of the seven wonders of the natural world, is just a short drive away.

No car? No problem!

Getting downtown to a baseball game or to a waterfront concert is easy with Buffalo’s public transportation system, which includes light rail and an extensive network of buses. And, the Metro Rail line connects UB’s South Campus with downtown Buffalo and the neighborhoods in between.

Buffalo is home to three professional athletic teams: the Bills (American football), Sabres (ice hockey) and Bandits (indoor lacrosse). And if you enjoy spending time outdoors, the Buffalo-Niagara region is an ideal place to be. The area is bounded by two of the Great Lakes (Erie and Ontario), among several other waterways perfect for kayaking or sailing. Just south of the city are also several highly rated skiing and snowboarding resorts.
