Whether you’re studying math, science or engineering, or just need help with a specific math problem, UB’s Math Center can help. The service is free and no appointment is necessary.
The center is a free service for all students and holds workshops on writing and writing instruction; it also offers online tutoring and conducts research to guide the future development of writing practices. By sharing your work with our staff, you can learn how to better express yourself and communicate ideas and concepts through writing.
The UB Libraries are comprehensive, offering you access to worldwide information resources and discovery tools. The Libraries support your research needs with more than 3.6 million volumes, subscriptions to 350 research databases and more than 10,000 electronic journals, and 10 world-renowned special collections. With more than 500 computer workstations, they also provide safe, comfortable spaces on campus for research and study.
Our International Student and Scholar Services office provides the services and support to welcome you to your new home at UB.
Our friendly staff members — including many international students — speak your language and can help address your immigration concerns, help you prepare for your trip to Buffalo and can even answer questions about paying for your education. We will also help introduce you to all the Buffalo-Niagara region has to offer, from major attractions to its vibrant arts and cultural scene.
What are my immigration options after graduation? How do my belongings get to Buffalo? How do I buy and maintain a car in the U.S.? These are all common questions, and each one is addressed in a workshop that is part of an ongoing series of helpful "how to" presentations hosted by ISSS every semester.

English language support is critical to your success at UB, and the ELI is a full-service center providing language instruction, cultural orientation and pre-academic training for international students.
The ELI was founded in 1971 and is a leader in English language instruction. The experienced staff and highly evolved programs address all the needs and concerns of students interested in developing their English language skills.
This on-campus medical facility is committed to providing quality medical services and comprehensive health education to all UB students.
We recognize the needs of all incoming students, including those who started their higher education at another institution. the Exploratory and Pre-Professional Advising Center offers several programs specifically for transfer students, including a peer mentor program that helps you become an active member of the UB community. The program will match you with a former transfer student who understands what it is like to navigate the transfer process.
