Paying Your Deposits

Congratulations on your acceptance to the University at Buffalo! UB has chosen you, and now it’s your turn to choose UB and reserve your place at one of the best public universities in the United States.

Once you have decided that UB is the school for you, it’s time to reserve your place here by paying your tuition deposit. After we receive your tuition deposit, our office will start processing your I-20 / DS-2019 (if needed).

If you are planning to live on campus, this is also the time to reserve your room by paying the housing deposit. Housing is limited and is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you choose to pay both your tuition and housing deposits at the same time, you will  be directed to the application for campus housing first. Follow the instructions there and you will eventually be prompted to pay for both deposit fees at once.

UB Person Number

Your 8 digit UB Person Number is required to pay your deposit. This number will be issued to you within 1 week of your admission decision. You will find this number at the top of your Applicant Status Portal.

Deposit deadlines

Fall: May 1

Spring: December 1

Missed the deposit date?

Tuition deposits are accepted after the deadline dates if seats are still available. But don’t lose your chance to study at UB; make your commitment by the specified deadlines.

Bridge Admission

If you have been admitted with Bridge Admission you will need to pay your tuition deposit by check or money order.

Fall 2019
