Dine with Faculty

UClub2.0 = (Informal networking w/ other UB staff and faculty) + (a fun, supervised gaming experience for your kids)

UClub2.0

The Office of the Vice Provost for Equity and Inclusion, in conjunction with the Faculty Senate, Professional Staff Senate, and the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, is hosting UClub2.0 on Saturday, March 4, 10am-2pm in the Student Union. Click here to register.

UClub2.0 brings UB staff and faculty together to network and socialize in a family-inclusive environment.  This year, UClub2.0 will bring UB families together to explore the popular sandbox video adventure game, Minecraft.  Your kids will be immersed in Minecraft coaching, instruction and adventure (in the lobby) led by UB computer science students, while faculty and staff enjoy socializing upstairs in the Flag Room.  You can opt into the gaming fun too! And you are welcome to come just to socialize (with or without children).

Children will build, invent, and explore in beginner, intermediate and advanced groups. Food and beverages will be provided.  And prizes will be awarded! Want to bring a child who’s not interested in Minecraft? No worries, we’ll have a table full of fun board games too!

Here’s the fine print:

  • Participation in the Minecraft is limited to the first 100 registrations.  The minimum age to participate in the gaming event is six years old.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops to game on, if possible, as well as a power supply.
  • Participants without laptops will have the use of a computer, as available.
  • Minecraft must be pre-installed on your computer.  This requires a license for the Java (PC or Mac) version of Minecraft.  Details are provided during the registration process (below).
  • Please note the technical requirements for computers running Minecraft for this event.  They are also posted on the registration page.
  • Faculty and staff remain responsible for the actions of their children throughout the event.
