CDSE allows me to explore state of the art and emerging technologies while providing focused mentorship on my areas of interest. This combination gives rise to a very efficient way to hone my skill set in a rapidly changing technical environment.
What are you working on?
My work focuses on high performance finite element based simulations, algorithms, and uncertainty quantification in the context of low Mach chemically reacting Navier-Stokes equations. This work occurs through Dr. Bauman's research group where I have been developing a Multigrid framework in our Multiphysics software infrastructure GRINS, which ties into both libMesh and PETSc libraries. Such a framework enables faster PDE forward solves which in turn allows for more robust and accurate uncertainty quantification in physical applications.
What is your vision for the future?
At least in part, my vision for the future involves an environment where we can explore and solve large cross-disciplinary problems through collaborative teams utilizing streamlined technologies that aim to remove the problems associated with legacy monolithic single purpose frameworks.
