What mentoring means to me:

Mentoring has been such a source of support and guidance for me throughout my professional journey. I have had the fortune of having many formal and informal mentors who have helped me through some difficult times and always believed that I could reach my goals. Paying it forward by mentoring graduate students, postdocs and early career professionals is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Topics I am willing to discuss with students:

Academic Culture

  • Dealing with politics and conflict with faculty or peers.
  • Decoding and demystifying academic culture and norms.
  • Uncertainty about staying in grad school.

Personal Experiences

  • Caregiving for children.
  • Experiences related to being a woman.
  • Experiences related to mental health and/or abilities.
