In recognition of the value and importance of mentoring, the Gender Institute is delighted to announce the establishment of an Excellence in Mentoring Award. The institute seeks to promote and recognize excellence at UB in mentoring undergraduate students, graduate students, staff, and faculty at all ranks. We are particularly interested in recognizing the achievements of mentors with a strong record of success in cultivating the professional potential of women, LGBTQ people, people of color, first-generation college students, and students from low-income backgrounds. The award will include a certificate of recognition and a $500 research or travel fund.
The deadline for nominations for the Gender Institute Mentoring Award is: Mon. Mar 23, 2020.
Letters of nomination should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: Nomination for Mentoring Award.
UB NEAR Program
UB NEAR (Network for Enriched Academic Relationships), is an online directory of faculty willing to talk with students about issues that are common… but also commonly undiscussed (e.g., competing personal and professional commitments, bias and marginalization, doubts about academia).
