Here is how our winners are making headlines at UB.

  • David R. Fendrick Theatre Fund
    6/15/26
    The David R. Fendrick Theatre Fund was established at the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo in memory of David Roos Fendrick (1941-1988), the critically applauded Western New York actor, director, writer and scholar. Fendrick was the youngest member of the first Lincoln Center Repertory Company and went on to a respected career in regional theaters across the country, including Buffalo’s Studio Arena Theatre. Among his many distinguished performances was his portrayal of Irish rebel and writer Brendan Behan in a one-man show that continues to hold the record as Buffalo’s longest-running theatrical performance. This grant is designed to support of one creative theater artist with a $1,000 award.
  • American Institute of Bangladesh Studies Bangla Language Fellowship Program

    The American Institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) is delighted to announce the  intensive, immersion-based Bangla language training program. This program offers participants an excellent opportunity to develop proficiency in Bangla (Bengali) and its colloquial variations through an immersive learning experience in Dhaka or via remote instruction.

    The Archaeological Institute of America (AIA)'s mission includes supporting and promoting archaeological research and its dissemination. To that end, the AIA offers a variety of scholarships, fellowships, and grants for travel, study, excavation, research, publication, and site preservation.
  • Wenner-Gren Foundation Anthropology Scholarship

    The Wenner-Gren Foundation is committed to playing a leadership role in anthropology. We help anthropologists advance anthropological knowledge, build sustainable careers, and amplify the impact of anthropology within the wider world.
  • Walmart Community Pharmacy Scholarship for Pharmacy Students

    The Walmart Community Pharmacy Scholarship for Pharmacy Students will be awarded to seven (7) outstanding Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree students who are accepted or enrolled in the professional curriculum at a U.S. college or school of pharmacy. Selected awardees must demonstrate leadership, academic success, and a commitment to serving rural or medically underserved patient populations. Each awardee will receive a single $5,000 scholarship.   
  • Voya Scholars for Mental Health

    Voya Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to continue their education at an accredited SUNY institution and pursue a degree in psychology, social work, or psychiatric nursing. Up to five awards of $10,000 will be granted each year.
  • Marcia and Ezra Zubrow Award in Anthropology, Law, Library Science and Heritage

    Dr. Ezra B. W. Zubrow and Marcia L. Zubrow created an endowed fund within the University at Buffalo Foundation, Inc. to be used for the purpose of supporting graduate students whose work is in the areas of heritage, culture, legal pluralism, labor policy or librarianship. Preference will be given to applicants who focus on the intersection of these topics in one, any two, or all three disciplines. Recipient(s) will receive up to $2,250, depending on available funding.
  • American Pharmacists Association Foundation

To support this mission, they offer scholarships to students who demonstrate a passion for the pharmacy profession and a commitment to excellence. These scholarships provide financial assistance to help students pursue their goals and make a impact in the profession. 
  • Charles E. Lindblom Memorial Fellowship

    The Charles E. Lindblom Memorial Fellowship supports an interdisciplinary social science project by an advanced graduate student at one of the member institutions of the College and University Fund for the Social Sciences. One fellowship of $7,500 will be offered to a doctoral candidate pursuing original and interdisciplinary research in economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, and/or history.
  • Graham Foundation—Carter Manny Awards

    Established in 1996 by the Graham Foundation, the Carter Manny Award supports the completion of outstanding doctoral dissertations on architecture and its role in the arts, culture, and society. As a predoctoral award program dedicated exclusively to architectural scholarship, the Carter Manny Award recognizes emerging scholars whose work promises to challenge and reshape contemporary discourse and impact the field at large.
