  • ELC Scholarship Program

    The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) scholarship program offers high-performing Black college students scholarships awards, internships, mentoring and unique access to ELC members, their companies and our strategic partners.
  • Presidential Fellowships
    2/5/24
    The UB Presidential Fellowship Program helps to fund outstanding graduate students. To be eligible, a nominee must be a new applicant to a PhD program and must be appointed as a full teaching, graduate or research assistant. Nominees must also have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.40 or higher upon admission.
  • The Graduate School Fellowship
    2/5/24
    The Graduate School Fellowship helps fund outstanding graduate students at UB. A minimum of twenty students will be selected per year. Each student will receive a $10,000 top-off per year, renewable for five years, for a total value of $50,000.
  • Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
    12/18/23
    The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship is awarded to sophomores and juniors who have outstanding potential and intend to pursue advanced degrees in mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering. Students who plan to study medicine are eligible only if they plan a research career rather than a career in private practice (MD).
  • The Udall Undergraduate Scholarship

    The Udall Undergraduate Scholarship is for juniors and sophomores who intend to become leaders across a wide spectrum of environmental fields, including policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice and economics. The foundation also seeks future Native American and Alaskan Native leaders in public and community health care, tribal government and public policy affecting Native American communities, including land and resource management, economic development and education.
  • National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP)

    The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF GRFP) awards three-year fellowships for graduate study in mathematical, physical, biological, engineering and behavioral and social sciences, including the history of science. There are awards for women in engineering, awards for women in computer information science and graduate fellowships. This fellowship carries a stipend of $34,000 per year plus tuition waivers and fees for three years. Applications are available online and part one of the application is due in early October.

  • SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence (CASE)

    The SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence acknowledges students for outstanding achievements that have demonstrated the integration of SUNY excellence within many aspects of their lives such as academics, leadership, campus involvement, community service, or the arts. Students are asked to provide descriptions of their awards, honors, accomplishments and/or achievements in at least three of the primary areas. It is the highest honor bestowed upon a student by the University.
  • Drs. Henry J. and Bonita R. Durand Scholarship

    The Durand Scholarship is intended to assist students who encounter financial obstacles that can hinder progression towards earning a degree and/or graduating. It was created by Drs. Henry J. and Bonita R. Durand, PhD ’02, MS ’93, to support and encourage the educational ambitions of graduates of the Cora P. Maloney Center. 
  • Benjamin and David Scharps Legal Essay Award

    The Benjamin and David Scharps Memorial Award was established in the will of Hannah S. Hirschhorn in honor of her brothers, Benjamin and David Scharps who were attorneys. The gift for the award was accepted by the SUNY Board of Trustees in 1974. The funds have been used to award undergraduate students who are prelaw or have an interest in legal studies. As per the bequest, the prize is awarded to a student who writes the best legal essay on the subject determined by the chancellor or designee.
