The Harvey Milk Award for Student Leadership, named in honor of University at Albany class of 1951 alumnus and LGBTQIA+ rights champion Harvey Milk, recognizes two outstanding students (one upper-level undergraduate student and one graduate student) who have dedicated their time to improving LGBTQIA+ inclusiveness on their campus for fellow students. The selected awardees for the Harvey Milk Award for Student Leadership will receive a one-time $1,500 non-tuition scholarship award. Other nominees will receive a certificate of recognition for their leadership and commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming campus culture for the LGBTQIA+ community on their respective campuses.

• Open to sophmore, junior, senior and graduate students.
• Mut be a full-time student in a SUNY program.
• 2.5 GPA or higher.
• Must be nominated by the university.
