Our Departments

University Facilities is made up of four core units  and three service units that provide both direct and advisory services to support the University’s mission.

Core Units

Facilities and Operations is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the buildings and grounds at the University at Buffalo. In addition, our units support campus departments with special needs for their work space as well as campus community events.
The Department of Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) develops safety and environmental compliance standards, policies and procedures to guide the university community in meeting UB’s Commitment to Safety.
Design and Construction is UB's in-house design and construction management team. We plan and program, estimate costs, coordinate architectural and engineering design, perform code review, arrange for building permits, procure materials, coordinate construction, provide site supervision for construction contracts.
UB 2020 South Campus
The Campus Planning orchestrates the pre-construction planning and programming phases of the Major Capital Programs Process and coordinates all university space planning and management activities.

Support Units

In addition to these core units, the following units provide University Facilities with internal support and specialty services:

Finance and Administration (F&A) is a division of University Facilities that aids in human resource matters, financial resource management and document management for University Facilities.
Document Library
The Document Library houses property information for North, South, Downtown and off-site locations, including architectural drawings, specifications and related documentation for University at Buffalo projects.
Our mission is to meet the energy needs of the UB community - faculty, staff and students, so ultimately UB’s mission of academic excellence may be pursued.
