*The 7.5-week Allied Health Customer Service (AH-CS) Program must be completed prior to the start of CST Classes.

The Program

The Registered Medical Assistant program encompasses both administrative and clinical competencies.  The program offers flexible instructional opportunities, including online training, and explores administrative skills, basic patient care, vital signs, and assisting the physician during an examination.

Prerequisites

• Meet TABE requirements
• Meet typing requirement (25 word per minute with 5 errors or less)
• Submit resume & two letters of recommendations
• Submit program interview sheet
• Complete program interview

• Medical Terminology
• Anatomy & Physiology
• Basic Patient Care
• Laboratory & Diagnostic Procedures
• Fundamentals of Pharmacology
• Human Biology
• Patient Billing
• Word processing for Medical Office
• Administrative Procedures for the Medical Assistant
• Computer Fundamentals
• 160 hours of off-site of clinical and  administrative internship

Earn Your Certification

Upon successful completion, students receive a Certificate of Completion from the State University of New York Buffalo Educational Opportunity Center.
