The Blackstone LaunchPad Story

UB President Satish Tripathi speaking at the grand opening of Blackstone LaunchPad at the University at Buffalo.

The Blackstone Charitable Foundation was founded in 2007 to inspire and support entrepreneurship around the world. As part of its Entrepreneurship Initiative launched in 2010, the foundation advances entrepreneurial thought and activity through programs such as Blackstone LaunchPad. This experiential program introduces entrepreneurship as a viable career path and equips students with skills sought in a modern job market.

Blackstone LaunchPad at UB opened its doors in March 2016. Located in the Student Union on UB’s North Campus, Blackstone LaunchPad provides students, alumni, faculty and staff with individualized mentorship and ideation support, as well as seminars and training sessions related to starting and growing a business. Here, entrepreneurs have access to resources and specialized tools that enable them to share knowledge, explore best practices, find team members and launch their startup.
