With the evolving COVID-19 situation, our staff is here to help you through this unprecedented time. Listed below are some updates regarding Student Life operations and resources.
A face covering is required in public when it is not possible to practice social distancing. (For students, this means anytime you leave your room or house.)
Student Life is offering students new ways to stay connected through virtual activities, workshops and more. Catch up with old friends, learn something new or share your experiences.
We understand that these developments may cause concern, stress or anxiety. Please know that you have many sources of support here on campus, including counseling services and crisis resources, as well as online information about mental well-being.
If you are experiencing a hardship due to these unexpected changes, UB is here to help. Contact Student Conduct and Advocacy for support resources.
UBIT has sent instruction on how to test the ability of your personal computer to connect to UB and your online courses as well as information about free software and other helpful IT tools.
We have organized live, drop-in, sessions via Collaborate to assist students with the transition to remote course instruction. The goal of these sessions is to provide another resource to go to for questions about the basics of online/remote course delivery, successful strategies for participation, encouragement to engage, and even to address fears/concerns.
SUNY personnel will help to quickly address common questions about participation in online/remote courses, technical support for remote access to courses, and referrals to campus resources.
