Beetroot Juice and Cerebral Vascular Function

A man lies in a machine which is hooked up to wires measuring his cerebral function.

Investigate how beetroot juice affects the function of cerebral arteries.

Project description

Beetroot juice consumption has been shown to improve peripheral vascular function and blood flow. However, little is known about how beetroot juice consumption influences cerebral vascular function. We are examining how the acute consumption of beetroot juice affects cerebral vascular function.

Project outcome

Students will present the data at the School of Public Health and Health Professions Perry Poster Day and/or a national conference.
