Write short lay articles about colon cancer and other lifestyle topics to use in a new measure of health information avoidance.
About 20% of people say that they avoid information about colon cancer. To develop ways of reducing avoidance, we first need to be able to measure cancer health information avoidance. We are looking for someone who enjoys writing about science for lay audiences (or just wants to practice) to help us write short lay articles about colon cancer and other lifestyle topics to use in a new measure of health information avoidance. You will also take part in pilot testing the measure.
We will create the materials that will be used in a study of health information avoidance. You will generate a portfolio of lay science articles. You will contribute to creating a new measure of health information avoidance.
