Research how young LGBTQ adults talk about their LGBTQ identity with others.
The University at Buffalo Stigma and Health (UBSH) lab aims to conduct online and in-person research studies with LGBTQ young adults to examine how they discuss their identities with others. These projects will include questionnaires asking members of the LGBTQ community about how they share their identity with other people and how these experiences affect their well-being, as well as focus groups for LGBTQ college students to discuss perceptions of parental acceptance and the inclusivity of college campuses. Student research assistants will gain firsthand experience working with participants and collecting psychological research data.
Students working with this lab will gain experience collecting and analyzing data. They will also have opportunities to present findings from this data in the form of a poster or writing project.
