Simulation of Drone-Net Capture

Drone sightings at airports have already caused hundreds of flight cancellations.

Students will contribute to the development of a simulator for capture of threatening drones with nets.

Project description

This project aims to develop a simulator for capture of adverse drones with nets, and later on control of the resulting system. Simulation is needed before experiments are put in place to identify feasible and preferred net launching conditions from the chaser drone. Students will work on:

  • Adding functionalities to an existing Matlab simulator.
  • Adding functionalities to an existing C++ simulator.
  • Creating simulation results to gain insight into the system.
