SDGs in Action: Developing OER Content

Explore the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through engaging with an NGO partner and its community projects. Leverage these experiences to create open educational resource (OER) content that can be used by other students, faculty and anyone interested in deepening their understanding of the SDGs and innovations that are generating impact.

Project description

Students will be guided through the following:

  • Exploring the SDGs and focusing on a particular goal as it relates to community empowerment
  • Learning about a specific global NGO partner and the context of its work as it relates to the SDG of interest
  • Engage with the NGO in an effort to gain a deeper understanding of community needs and specific projects that are resulting in meaningful impact
  • Work with the ELN and Libraries teams to develop OER content to be included in an interactive portfolio of related materials and digital media
  • Identify ways that other students (at UB and beyond) might build on your efforts toward even greater impacts and opportunities
