What I did

Photo of COUNSELING.

For my project, I served as a knowledgeable and relatable resource to students who were curious about the role anxiety plays in their lives. Our weekly programs encouraged conversations about how anxiety presents itself. Finally, we educated students on components such as fear and panic to provide anxiety management tools.

What I learned

SUNY Potsdam encourages stigma-free conversations about mental health by listening to the needs and concerns of their students and implementing meaningful action. Being so involved in this project taught me how important it is to not only share my experiences but listen to the experiences of others. I observed the ways our campuses approach mental health and as a student leader, I want to strive for community.
