What I did

My research was on cavities and the dental resin used to fill the cavities. We are focused on replacing a polymer within the dental resin called TEGDMA due to its high concentration of ester bonds which is a carbon bonded to two oxygens. We want to synthesize a polymer to replace that TEGDMA to increase the resistance against water and improve the overall strength of the resin.

What I learned

I developed critical thinking, problem solving and professional development skills. My biggest takeaway was to never stop learning and always try something new.
