Unconscious or implicit bias affects everyone and can have a significant influence on our attitudes and behaviors and microaggressions can build up and impact the work environment. These topics are often not addressed in the research environment but have a huge impact on teamwork. Unconscious bias can influence key decisions in the workplace and can contribute to inequality in recruitment, promotions, and performance appraisals of students and colleagues.

This workshop will provide participants with knowledge about bias, a review of the terminology and how they impact our work values and environment, and strategies for reducing bias in the workplace.
