Developing, implementing, and disseminating sound research studies requires several important steps be undertaken. Hypothesis formulation and study design often can be informed by previously completed studies published by other investigators. Thus, reviewing scientific literature is a critical skill when conducting research. Additionally, available data sets can often be used for pilot studies or in some instances to test primary hypotheses. Having an awareness of the types of datasets that are accessible, their strengths and limitations can be helpful. This workshop has the following learning objectives:

1.  Understand the basic steps in reviewing literature

2.  Be informed on the available data sources, their potential uses and limitations.

This workshop series is free and open to all students, fellows, faculty and staff at UB, the Buffalo Translational Consortium and SUNY.
