Demonstrating Feasibility of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in Primary Care


This study is designed to support the resubmission of a collaborative grant application utilizing Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) groups among patients in primary care settings with multiple chronic diseases. The study will examine the relationship of psychological stress to illness severity among patients with diverse combinations of diagnoses and to provide estimates of the prevalence of the different combinations and these patients interest in participating in a MBSR intervention. In addition, the study will provide preliminary estimates of the impact of the MBSR intervention on measures of stress and functioning. Funded by RIA's Howard T.
