This research will test alcohol’s effects on men’s perception of sexual interest from women and women’s perception of risk for sexual assault.

Developing an alcohol administration protocol to characterize the proximal mediators and moderators of alcohol’s acute effects on decision-making processes related to sexual assault risk (e.g., sexual interest judgments and sexual risk perceptions); examining historical trends and changes in sex differences in alcohol-related regretted sex using longitudinal data from multiple cohorts; evaluating the effects of chronic heavy drinking on sex differences in the expression of sexually selected traits (e.g., spatial abilities and face emotion recognition)
