Come here to get the help you need.

Everyone — even students at the top of their class — benefits from a little bit of extra help. Tutoring can help you better understand the material, strengthen your skills and boost your confidence in the classroom. When you work with a tutor, you’ll find new ways to approach your studies and strategies to overcome the rigors of college-level work. ARC has services designed to meet these needs and more.

Walk-in tutoring.

Tutors are on-site during specific days/times for our high-demand courses. No appointment needed.

Tutoring by appointment.

If you prefer one-on-one attention, you can request a tutor, who will schedule weekly sessions with you.

Study group sessions.

Our tutors organize structured group study sessions for students taking the same course.

Academic coaches.

Available by appointment, our academic coaches will help you with time management, organization and study strategies based on your preferred learning style.

ARC Student Policies
  1. Arrive on time for all tutoring appointments.
  2. If you are unable to make a scheduled appointment, you must contact your tutor directly to cancel at least four hours prior to the appointment. Failure to do so will result in a “no-show.”
  3. Understand that after two “no-shows” your tutoring privileges may be revoked.
  4. Come prepared to all tutoring sessions with questions, notes and textbooks.
  5. Follow UB’s academic integrity policies.
  6. Understand that your tutor is not an instructor, but a student like you. Your tutor is here to assist, support and help guide you through the course.
  7. Know that you are solely responsible for your own learning and your academic performance.
