News and Updates

For all the latest news and updates, consult UB's COVID-19 site.

  • Even with density greatly reduced on campus, UB’s COVID-19 surveillance testing program is ongoing in accordance with state guidelines. Students living in university housing or taking an in-person class, as well as employees who were designated as reporting to campus during the fall term, may receive testing assignments in the coming weeks and should participate as requested.

  • UB Stampede buses and shuttles are running on a reduced schedule for the remainder of the fall semester.

  • UB librarians have worked diligently to help the university transition to remote learning and provide researchers across the globe with critical data.

Resources for Faculty and Staff

    • Mini Medical School. Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences faculty will answer the UB community’s questions about the resurgence of COVID-19 during an hourlong virtual panel session on Dec. 15.
    • Virtual HR workshop archive. Recordings of HR workshops are arranged by topic online, making it easier to view or revisit presentations anytime.
    • UB Faculty Staff Campaign. Chair Dorothy Siaw-Asamoah invites colleagues to make an annual gift to UB and help the campaign reach its goal of 2,021 faculty and staff donors.

Resources for Students

    • Study buddies. A series of open, virtual study spaces allows students to connect and support each other in the weeks before and during final exams.
    • Behavioral concerns? This webpage provides guidance for addressing instances of disruptive or disturbing behavior to ensure that all students can benefit from a safe and secure learning environment, whether in-person or virtual. Students experiencing distress can find help as well.
