  • COVID-19 testing of students continues prior to the upcoming Thanksgiving break, and surveillance testing has increased for employees as well. According to university officials, nearly 9,000 students, faculty and staff have been tested on campus, showing a positivity rate of less than 0.5%.

  • As UB prepares for the switch to remote learning following the Thanksgiving break, students, faculty and staff are reminded to continue using the Daily Health Check virtual screening tool throughout the remainder of the fall semester and during winter recess. More info is available on the Daily Health Check webpage.

  • UB plans to implement all aspects of SUNY’s reopening guidance for the upcoming spring semester, scheduled to start on Feb. 1, 2021, with in-person, remote and hybrid instruction. 

Resources for Faculty and Staff

    • Helping hungry students. Blue Table, UB’s virtual food pantry service for students, is holding its second annual food drive. Drop-off spots for nonperishable food items are available at several locations on the North and South campuses, and financial donations can be made online.
    • Home for the holidays. Timothy Murphy, SUNY Distinguished Professor, will discuss CDC guidelines for mitigating risk and staying safe during the holidays at an upcoming virtual workshop sponsored by Human Resources.
