News and Updates

For all the latest news and updates, consult UB's COVID-19 site.

  • Careful measures have been taken to keep UB’s research enterprise, from undergrads to lead investigators, pressing on through the pandemic.

  • Students in neighboring off-campus housing complexes have been reminded to refrain from any behaviors that threaten the health and safety of the campus and the community, such as socializing in close groups without wearing face coverings.

  • Counseling Services is sponsoring a workshop exploring the impact of the pandemic on marginalized communities. Facilitators will offer strategies for self-care, community care and mental wellness.

  • UB homecoming will be virtual this year, with live online events, interactive activities and more, from Oct. 5-10.

Resources for Faculty and Staff

    • Zoom updates. The latest version has several new features of note. Additionally, beginning Sept. 27, UB will require the use of passcodes or waiting rooms for all Zoom meetings.

Resources for Students

    • Temporary workspaces available. Students looking for a convenient spot on campus to get work done between classes can find a directory of touchdown spaces.
    • Emergency funds. When unanticipated circumstances interfere with students’ ability to continue or complete their studies, these financial resources might help.
