News and Updates

For all the latest news and updates, consult UB's COVID-19 site.

  • In an email provided to unit leaders, Laura Hubbard, VP of finance and administration, provided guidance and templates for bringing employees back to campus. With safety as the top concern, units will be permitted to have no more than 50% of employees on site on any given day and are instructed to keep as many people as possible working remotely.

  • Federal emergency financial assistance has been made available to students who have incurred educational expenses related to the COVID-19 pandemic. UB has automatically allocated funds to students through their financial aid package in the HUB student center, where they have the option to accept, reduce or decline the funding.

  • A comprehensive campus planning structure has been established to prepare for the different scenarios that could play out in the 2020-2021 academic year. Under the leadership of Provost Weber, committees are developing protocols that will allow UB to continue to deliver quality education and research programs while ensuring the health and safety of the campus community.

  • University Communications has launched a campaign to provide the UB community with the latest authoritative information about plans for the fall semester, as well as information about health and safety protocols put in place to protect faculty, staff, students and visitors as UB’s campuses gradually reopen.
