If I receive my first vaccine dose (Pfizer or Moderna) before leaving campus, will I be able to get my second dose elsewhere?

The White House directed all pharmacies participating in the federal pharmacy program (which includes nearly all major chain pharmacies) to offer second doses of COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna) to individuals who received their first dose elsewhere or from a different provider.

The effort is explicitly targeted at college students, many of whom will receive their first dose on or near campus and will need to receive their second dose in their hometown.  New York City also announced that anyone can make their second dose appointment at a NYC operated site if the individual received their first dose elsewhere.

Anyone using this option should bring their vaccine card from their first dose appointment with them to their second dose appointment so that records can be kept accordingly.

Below is the list of participating pharmacies for reference and further below is the link to the New York City scheduler.

Where can I get vaccinated?
Appointments are no longer needed at any state-run or county-run vaccination site.
