I’m young, healthy and vaccinated. Do I really need a covid-19 booster shot?

Current data show that all three of the COVID-19 vaccines approved or authorized in the U.S. continue to be effective in reducing risk of severe disease, hospitalization, and death, even against the widely circulating delta variant. However, by getting a booster shot, you will decrease the likelihood that you'll get infected and protect others as well, particularly those that are more vulnerable and more likely than you for developing serious disease. This includes the unvaccinated, the immunocompromised and older adults.
