How will I know if I’ve come into contact with a member of campus who has tested positive for COVID-19?

The Erie County Department of Health will contact any students, faculty, staff or visitors who may have come into close contact with an infected individual. Anyone deemed to be a close contact of individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 will be advised to self-quarantine to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms. These individuals will not return to campus until they have completed the quarantine.

If you are in contact with someone who has been in contact with a person infected with COVID-19, it doesn’t necessarily mean you are at risk for infection or would need to self-quarantine.  Please see guidance from the NYS Department of Health for more information.
