UB has implemented a process of daily screenings (Daily Health Check) of all students, faculty, staff. visitors and affiliates* using chatbot technology, followed by targeted viral testing of those who have COVID-19 symptoms or who have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. *Affiliates includes RF, State, UBF employees, adjunct faculty, volunteers, vendors, visitors and invited guests to campus.
The university has launched a health awareness campaign, “Together, we are UB,” to raise awareness about the critical importance of healthy behaviors (mask wearing, physical distancing, hand hygiene, stay home if sick) in reducing the spread.
The campaign will stress the importance of practicing these behaviors on and off-campus, and the university is distributing 1,500 packets containing information on UB’s Health and Safety Guidelines to students residing in the neighborhoods around UB’s South Campus.
Most of the spread is occurring in people’s households, so it’s critically important to the health and safety of individuals and their families that people practice these behaviors in their personal lives.
