UBclicks is a classroom response system that allows students to participate in presentations or lectures by submitting responses to interactive questions via a keypad.
A classroom response system is an interactive tool that can be useful for increasing student participation and rapidly assessing student understanding in class. UB has selected Turning Technologies’ classroom response system as its campus-wide standard. Most technology classrooms include the TurningPoint Cloud software and response device receivers.
Instructors add polling slides, created using the TurningPoint Cloud client software, to PowerPoint presentations for students to evaluate and respond. Students respond to polling questions using a physical ‘clicker’ device or ResponseWare software for web-enabled devices such as smart phones and laptops. Student responses are captured and can be immediately displayed to gauge content understanding and/or saved for later review and grading.
The UB wireless network may be insufficient to support all student ResponseWare connection attempts. UB recommends that students use clickers (ResponseCard models RF, XR or NXT).
