The HUB Faculty Center, accessible through MyUB, is a portal through which faculty and graders can change and submit grades.
To access the Faculty Center log into MY UB and click the HUB Faculty Center Link.
This will bring you to the My Schedule page. The My Schedule page should display the current semester. If you want to view a different semester, click the Change Term button. To the right of the Change Term button, there is a box that contains a link to your exam schedule. The My Exam Schedule link takes you to the bottom of the page, where your exam information, if applicable, will be displayed.
On the Faculty Center main page, note the Icon Legend that is located just above the My Teaching Schedule section of the page. The legend explains the meaning of the icons that will appear with your teaching schedule.
The My Teaching Schedule box displays all the classes a faculty member is teaching in the selected term, along with the details of those courses.
At the top of the box containing all your class information, you will see an icon consisting of a matrix with a red arrow pointing at it. Use this icon (called Download) to open your semester schedule in an Excel spreadsheet, which you can then save for your own use. This icon will appear on other pages and can be similarly used to download the pages to an Excel Spreadsheet.
The icon to the left of the Class field (three people standing together) is the Class Roster button. Use this button to view the class roster for your class.
Later in the semester, you will also see an icon of a person in front of a board, which can be clicked to take you to the Grade Roster for that particular class. This will not display until later in the semester, when the Office of the Registrar generates a Grade Roster at the start of the grading period. You will be notified when grade rosters for your classes are available.
The View Weekly Teaching Schedule link, located just below your course listing, provides a graphical display of your classes.
It is important to use the icons in “My Teaching Schedule” to access your class and grade roster. If you access them through the Class Roster and Grade Roster tabs, instead of the icons within your teaching schedule box, you may receive the following error: a box that says “No class selected,” with additional information.
In the My Teaching Schedule box, select the Grade roster icon next to the course that you want to grade.
You are brought to the grade roster for your course. Class details are at the top of the page.
In the Display Options section, use the Grade Roster Type pull down list to choose the roster you want.
For the Mid-Semester Review, you should choose the “Mid-Term Grade” roster type. For Final Grades, you should choose the “Final Grade” roster type.
The 60% Participation Date for the course is listed on the grade roster page, as well as an Explanation of Grades which provides grading definitions for your reference.
On the student Grade tab, you will see a roster listing the student ID, Name, Roster Grade, Official Grade, Grade Basis, Program and Plan, and Level. ID and name have been masked in the following screenshot for your example.
There are three options for entering grades:
Use the Roster Grade pull down menu for each student. Select a grade from the Roster Grade drop down list.
Click the “Select All” link at the bottom of the page or individually check the checkboxes to the left of the student ID for each student that is to receive the same grade.
Click on the drop-down list to the left of the “Add this grade to selected students” button to select a grade value. Click the “add this grade to selected students” button. You will notice that the same grade has been assigned to the selected students.
Select the “Upload Grades from File” link in the Grade Roster Action section.
In the “Select the file type and upload” box, select the Comma Delimited or Tab Delimited radial button based upon the file you are using. In our example, we will select Tab Delimited.
Click the “Upload File” button.
In the file upload box click “Choose File” to find the file on your computer/network that you want to upload.
Select the file and click the “Open” button.
Then click “Upload” from the File Attachment window.
You will see the title of the document you are uploading and its extension in the Select the file type and upload box.
Click the “Next” box.
The Uploaded Student(s) box contains a listing of your students and their corresponding uploaded grades. You will receive an error message if the grades were not successfully uploaded.
You will be returned to the Grade Roster page. You can input any missing grades manually by using the Roster Grade Pull down list. You can also fix or change any errors at this time. Once grades have been assigned go to the “Grade Roster Action” section and click the “Approval Status” drop down list, select Approved.
Click “Save” when you are done.
Clicking “Post” moves the grades from the “Roster Grade” column the ‘Official Grade” column. You will see that the word “Posted” now appears beside the Grade Roster Action box.
