All guests attending a commencement ceremony will need to show their ticket upon entry; graduates will be required to check in at registration.
All attendees must adhere to the following requirements on the day of the commencement ceremony:
- Complete the Daily Health Check that day.
- Bring photo ID and be prepared to demonstrate proof that you do not have COVID-19, through one of the below:
- Wear an appropriate face covering over your nose and mouth at all times while on campus.
- Maintain a minimum six feet of physical distance between yourself and anyone outside your party at all times.
Guests will be limited to parties of two when seated to view the ceremony.
Children ages 3 and up will require a ticket and need to follow the COVID protocols listed above.
North Campus directions are available on the Visiting UB website.
Use the Coventry Entrance (off of Millersport Highway) or Flint Entrance (off Millersport Highway or Maple Road) for the most direct access to events at the UB Stadium.
The Stadium Lot, Slee A Lot and Baird A Lot are recommended for guest parking. During commencement ceremonies, guests are welcome to park in any faculty/staff and student parking lots; a UB hangtag is not required. For a map with details for parking lots; please see the UB North Campus Map.
All guests enter UB Stadium on the South end thru Gates 1 and 2. (Graduating students, faculty and staff only will enter on the North end thru Gates 4 and 5).
Tickets are required for all commencement ceremonies. For more information about ticketing, please visit the ceremonies page and choose the ceremony you would like to attend.
Children, toddlers and infants are welcome as guests at all commencement ceremonies; please follow these guidelines.

Baby strollers are not permitted inside this venue.
Upon arrival, security personnel will conduct a speedy inspection of all belongings.
The east end of the Stadium Lot is designated as accessible parking for guests with disabilities. Those with official parking hangtags may utilize these accessible lots and spaces. The University at Buffalo does not issue these hangtags.
Guests who are unable to walk from another parking lot may be dropped off at the east end of the Stadium Lot which is adjacent to the guest entrance to UB Stadium.
All guests enter UB Stadium at the South end through Gates 1 and 2.
Elevator access is located within UB Stadium inside these gates.
A limited number of wheelchairs will be available at Gates 1 and 2 to transport guests to the designated seating areas at top of the 100-level sections.
These wheelchairs cannot be used by guests to sit in during the ceremony. We strongly encourage guests who need wheelchairs to supply their own. This is especially crucial in case of an emergency evacuation.
There is no specific ticket for accessible seating. For ceremonies requiring guest tickets, each guest will need a standard guest ticket.
Specific areas of the Stadium have been established for accessible seating. We ask that guests with special needs check in at our Guest Services tent inside the South Gates of UB Stadium so that our usher staff can assist with getting them properly seated.
Please note that guests with special needs may only bring ONE companion to sit with them. The individual in need and their companion must each have a ceremony ticket. This limit is to ensure that we maintain ample seating for others in need.
